Built by hand, from the land itself.
On a vast stretch of wilderness, Karivo was built by Ivo Lühl, his sons, and their team. Without an architect or construction company, a vision came to life using quartz rock gathered from the land it stands on.
The lodge sits alone on 3,000 hectares of wild bushveld, with mountain ranges and valleys, and a wealth of wildlife. Here you'll find antelopes, giraffes, warthogs, meerkats, bat-eared fox, and many more, including the elusive leopard. The land itself is magic; a protected piece of the wild, with untouched nature as far as the eye can see.
Room for a whole circle.
Panorama rooms, with double beds, private balconies, open savannah views, taken as singles or shared. Simpler Garden rooms on the ground floor open when larger groups gather, and two rooms stay reserved for facilitators.
The restaurant sits at the top of the mountain, with golden sundowners and a terrace with 360‑degrees views, perfect for stargazing, There's a Shala space for gatherings, an outdoor space for ceremony, a pool to relax, and quiet corners for recharging.
